Couldn’t decide if this was sad or funny, so I put it up anyway.

Animal Psychic – Penn & Teller

August 23rd, 2009

She’s crazy. But stroking that turtle under his head looks pretty cool. Oh, did I just use stroking and turtle-head in the same scentence.

Ew.

Penn and Teller: Placebo Effect

August 23rd, 2009

Penn & Teller find out what bullshit products they could sell people with the power of the placebo: the magno-mits and magno-hat; the chiropractic coat; and, funniest and cringeworthiest, the mucus mask.

Brown Dwarf Star in 2012 – Penn & Teller

August 21st, 2009

My favourite bit isn’t actually the brown dwarf star gag but just before the end, when the “Dr.” Rand points to the photo and says: “this may well be Planet X and if it is, then we will be right. And I don’t wanna be right, but, I think, I am.”

I googled Mr Rand, and his Dr title comes from an “Honorary Ph.D. in the field of Energyinformative Sciences, from the Academy of Energyinformative Sciences, conducted with Moscow University, Russia” (text from his website). The most official page I could find that seems to represent that “Academy” is here this cringe-worthy webpage taken from this woo’s website (no offence, Porokhnia).

Seriously, why would any self-respecting publisher print this stuff?..Ah, it appears to be self-published. His bio lists various other credentials, including having attended the National College of Chiropractic. Nuff said?

Later in the episode, Rand reveals that he’s an alien abductee, which is how he knows his stuff.
